West Perth

Reflecting the essence of a sublime sunset.

With an average of more than 130 perfectly clear blue-sky days per year, Perth provided an inspiring palette for a spectacular response.

With a goal of capturing the alluring vignette of a Perth sunset, the built form applied a mirrored surface to the building skin. In order to diffuse the sunset gradient and create an array of metallic colours, the material was high sheen but not 100% reflective.

Manipulation of the skin through Gaussian curves aided in capturing the reflections and provided the opportunity for winter gardens to be inserted.
Setbacks were designed to accommodate landscaping and street activation.
