Post-modern perfection
Designed for a tricky sloping block, Piano House is a
triumph of functional family-friendly design expressed
within an elegant post-modern architectural language.
A central component of the client brief was to create a
dedicated space for a piano, which then informed
characteristics of the overall design solution. Gentle
curves, a ribbed façade and generous applications of warm
timber combine to amplify the theme.
The hero space is undoubtedly the sunken lounge, redolent of
modernist house design, which invites exterior features in
through swathes of floor-to-ceiling glass. Outside,
a
signature pool and lush, green surrounds serve to create a
luxurious and secluded haven.
