Abruzzo Coat of Arms

Abruzzi (Abruzzo) is a region in central Italy. Its western border is less than 80 kilometres due east of Rome and it lies between Marche, Lazio, Molise and the Adriatic Sea. It is actually considered part of Southern Italy, a vestige of Abruzzo’s historic association with the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies. Its capital is L’Aquila.

A flag was adopted on 21 May 1999. With a gold bordered shield and green, blue stripes, its colours stand for the snow, the woods and hills and the sea of Abruzzi.

Marketing

Combining a recognisably Italian brand name with the concept of a traditional family coat of arms was central to amplifying the agreed brand pillars of knowledge, passion and tradition. Crest-like elements were stylised in modern-looking iconography for a contemporary context.

A customised typeface was created and
the family’s winemaking credentials were referenced in the tagline. The finished effect was one of a highly considered and credible brand with all elements working to attract wide appeal.
